   Hi everyone!!!

 

 Finally, the day has come. This is my last post. Im not gonna pretend like Im sad, this whole being student thing is a burden to me. To be honest, it is no ones fault. I just have ADHD and school has no dopamine for me. They can make it more fun but they do not. An alien came and ate all of their emotions.

  I want to talk about this course a little. I think it is good to have it because teachers must keep up with their students. What do I mean by that? Technology evolves rapidly and it is a big difference in todays world. There are always new techniques to teach and teachers should keep up. To learn how to to that, this course is excellent.

  I think the frequency of assignments are too much to handle. Maybe it is because I am working all the time but it feels like the assignments never end.

  My most favourite task was AR. I had the chance to introduce my fav city and AR thing is so much fun. The least favourite was definetely flipped clasroom. It was too long. Long assignments are all boring.

  I think it is not place to make a suggestion on this course. I appriciate the efforts of our teacher. It is hard to be a caring teacher I know that for sure but shes doing her best to help. I thought the blog writing task was a little old headed activity but it turned out to be a great way to express my feelins.

  If you are the ones who take this course, ASSIGNMENTS ARE SO IMPORTANT. DO YOUR BEST. THEY WILL TEACH YOU SO MANY THINGS.

  I learned how to use so many different tools and how to teach with them. I don't plan to be a teacher but I am grateful about the knowledge.

The Warrior Kitty

           

            Hi Everyone!!!

 This task was creating an Ai integrated teaching material. I had hard time doing it because my work schedule was so busy I hardly found time to finish the task.So what is it ? It is a comparison and contrast task. I generated a warrior kitty image with an Ai tool and present that to the kids. They described it to warm up. Warm up for what ? I hear you asking. They used the same tool with their own prompts to generate the same image. Then we put them side to side and found the differences. That made them learn how to compare( I mean I hope it did). Last but not least there is our assure lesson plaaan. I love the lesson plan so much(!) It was the whole task. Let me show it to you. Here is the teaching material. Arrivederci!

AR Integrated Classroom

 

        Hi Everyone!!

Guess why I'm writing again! Yeah I know, I'm also bored but there is nothing  I can do. I have to be here.This one was fun actually. AR and VR in a teaching material, at least it is futiristic. I created a teaching material that shows some museums, cultural knowledge and a landmark of Italy. I wash I was in Italy but I have to suck it up as always. So the material, it has some links in it that redirects you to a 360 video website. You can look around and walk like it is so important. Every kid knows how to do that nowadays. It is not new. Flipped Approach (or Fingers IDK)

 

          Hi Everyone!!

This post is going to be about a task as usual. ( You all surprised right ??? ) This time is on flipped approach. Flipped learning is a methodology that helps teachers to prioritize active learning during class time by assigning students lecture materials and presentations to be viewed at home or outside of class. We prepared a video for the students to make them famliar with some vocabulary items. The items was about movie types. There were horror , sci-fci,drama etc. I forced my friends to add spiderman somewhere. You can see our video by clicking here. There is a QR code at the end of the video.              Hi Everyone!!

 This school is going to make me a mad person eventually. Here is an another task that we completed.

Corpus is a collection of written texts and there are some websites that helps you find your way in this collection. We prepared a corpus based teaching material and a lesson plan for our imaginary high school students. You can check them from below by clicking their names. There were some difficulties of course. Teacher did not like my design, it had some cute little bats and spiders. Even a moving dog :((( She said it is childish and we need to make it more high schooly ( I know this is not a real word save your comments for yourself). I almost forgot to mention, we are group by the way. It is me, Sümeyya and Sümeyra. You can check their blogs by clicking to their names. Back To The Future

                    Hi Everyone!!

          I'm back with a new course. As you guys know this blog is for educational purposes. It is 'Current Issues in Teaching' and it is for integrating the new worlds tech to our classes. I can say the only course that I enjoy is this one. Our lecturer is always properly dressed for the course, she is not some guy with messy hair from some country. We can communicate with her comfortably and these are all that I need from a course.

          After 1,5 years gap, I'm back to school and it is stil booring.I'm having a hard time catching up what is happening in my life. I have school in the mornings and work after. I must say that this lifestyle is frustrating and tiring. However, we all need to stay on the path that goes to the happiness. Take care my friends.

A PSA

 

              Hi Everyone!! 

   I'm back with a new project. My lecturer gave us a project which was boring at first but it turned out that I was biased. The project was preparing a PSA. I immediately thought about animals (as always). The video was already in my mind. All I had to do was editing. 

    My friends (Şevval Yılmaz and Doğa Şarlayan) took part in the text preparation and voice-over part, and I took care of the editing.  We have prepared a video that I like very much.  In the preparation part, I used the application called "adobe premiere rush".  The fact that the application does not recognize some of the photos and videos made the assignment difficult.  I had to find the mobile version of the app and complete it from my phone.  Even though there were setbacks, it was fun to solve them and prepare the assignment.  If I ever become a teacher, I will definitely assign a similar assignment to my students.

A Better World

 

Hi Everyone!!

  I’ve returned with a new experience to share with you. Our lecturer gave us this task -which was creating a podcast- and provided us with four types of podcasts to choose from creating a vpox, a chant/song, a sound reach story, or a 60-sec idea to improve the world. The last one was my choice because I wanted to do the task individually. 

  My idea to improve the world was already on my mind. Since I love animals so much of course it had to do something with them. The idea was in short “if we understood the animals, the world would be a better place.” So the hard thing about this task wasn't finding an idea, it was the recording. I did the recording with my phone so it was nothing professional. My cat, on the other hand, didn't let me have it any easier with her mischievous behaviors. However, despite all the difficulties I think I've managed to complete the task. 

  If I become a teacher in the future I don't know if would give this task to my students. Though I still think it might be a good assignment for them to improve their speaking skills.

Be Aware Of The Parasites Around

Hi Everyone!!

 Today's topic will be my wiki experience. This time we were given the task to create a wiki page with a friend. We decided to do it with my friend Furkan. The task was to create a wiki page on a film review of our choosing. We decided on the movie called “The Parasite” directed by Boong Joon-ho. 

   After deciding on the movie to work on, we started talking on WhatsApp about how to do the task. We exchanged ideas and then I created the wiki page. Finding out how to use the wiki page wasn't hard and didn't take me long to finish it since everything we wanted to write on it was ready. However, we had a problem. Because Furkan didn't edit the page, his name didn't show up as one of the writers. Our lecturer said he wouldn't get a grade since his name wasn’t there but we talked to her and she gave him a chance to fix the problem.

Technology Seized Our Schools

 

     

Hi Everyone!! Today, we are going to talk about 21st century learning.

        With the development of technology, we need to produce new strategies in many aspects of our lives. Education is an important one of these aspects. In order to produce new strategies in education, we must first learn what “21st century learning” is.

       “21st century learning” is a term used to describe modern approaches in education. What are these modern approaches? They are student-centered, goal-oriented,  and especially assisted by technology approaches to provide students with the skills required by the age. These approaches provide students with adaptability, social skills, productivity, responsibility, and give them information about media and technology. Media and technology are important because in order to be creative, it is necessary to know how to access the right information and how to use that information effectively.

           The most important element of technology and media is language.  Every change in the cultures and development of societies is reflected in their language.  Technology can be used to keep up with language. Students and teachers can make use of technological devices. Internet connections and mobile devices are one of the most popular and useful ways in language education to provide interaction between language learners and teachers.

        To conclude , the 21st century is an age where consumption is very fast.  Therefore, the skills required to reach the same speed in production should be provided to the students. Lessons should be interactive, and teachers should inspire their colleagues to develop their own web-based activities.
